Tom Hanks has outed himself as an unlikely Aston Villa football fan at the premiere of his latest movie.

The 51-year-old stars alongside Julie Roberts in Charlie Wilson's War, based on a true story of "the most successful covert operation in history".

But the actor swapped politics for football by wearing an Aston Villa scarf, because he "likes the team".
