Sylvester Stallone’s is officially back as Hollywood’s favourite action hero.
He’s inked a lucrative deal to direct and star in two action films.
After years in the doldrums, Sly’s career has been on the up and up in recent years with lucrative – although not blockbusting – sequels to his tow most successful franchises, Rambo and Rocky.
Just a few years ago, he followed up his role in Spy Kids 3D: Game Over with a failed network boxing reality TV series, The Contender.
In 2006, Rocky Balboa, the sixth Rocky film, grossed $70 million after being made for just $24 million.
Rambo – his latest movie, which opens here in the UK later this month - made $18.2 million in its opening weekend in the US and earned an estimated $25 million in its first 10 days of release.
