Simon's Yes To Star Trek

Simon Pegg’s signed up for the new Star Trek movie.

The British actor – best known for films Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and Run Fatboy Run – will play Scotty, the Starship Enterprise’s Scottish chief engineer.

Also saying yes the movie is John Cho who is best known for the comedy Harold & Kumar Get The Munchies.

He’ll play Sulu – the role immortalized by Japanese-American actor George Takei.

Earlier this week The Hulk star Eric Bana joined the cast as the movie's villain, Nero.

Plot details are begin kept under wraps, but it is understood that the movie will follow the early days of the Enterprise crew.

J.J. Abrams – the man behind hit TV show Lost and movies including Mission: Impossible III - is directing.

The movie is expected to shoot from November to March.
