Week 12

Check out what how your baby is developing this week: -

• Your foetus looks more like a baby but with the head still bent forward.
• The face has a human profile and the jaw hides twenty developing tooth buds.
• Muscles are growing and increasing the movement of the foetus, but you still can't because it has plenty of room to slosh about in the amniotic fluid without touching the sides.
• As the placenta has been doing since week 5, it is routinely sending oxygen and nutrients down the vein of the umbilical cord, and taking away waste such as foetal wee, which travels back up the two arteries in the cord.
