Adele SmallJack Johnson has topped this week's album charts, pushing newcomer Adele off the number one slot.

The soulful London teenager's song Chasing Pavements also dropped one place in this week's singles chart to number three.

Swedish DJ Basshunter held the singles chart top spot for a fifth week with catchy Eurodance tune Now You're Gone.

Nickelback moved up one place to number two with Rockstar, and R&B singer Rihanna also jumped back up one place to number four with Don't Stop The Music.

Eighties band Wet Wet Wet took number 10 in the singles chart with new entry Weightless while Kelly Rowland dropped two places to number six with Work.

Troubled Britney Spears also dropped a place, from seven to eight, with Piece Of Me.

In the album charts, Nickelback's All The Right Reasons held on to the number three spot while Scouting for Girls' eponymous album fell three places to number five.

American R&B star Mary J Blige had a new entry at number six in the albums chart with Growing Pains and Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli jumped from number 44 to 16 with Vivere: The Best Of Andrea Bocelli.
