Fergie says getting engaged to actor Josh Duhamel makes her “the luckiest girl in the world.”

He popped the question last week

The 32-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer confirmed the proposal to People magazine in the US saying: "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."

"I'm thrilled."

News of the couple's engagement – they have been an item for three years – broke on Christmas Day.

However, the singer’s who has refused to say when or how exactly it happened, says staying so quiet about something so big in her life isn’t easy.

She joked: "It's hard for me because I have a big mouth."

"In 2008, I just want to have a balance."
