Steven Spielberg is to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his "outstanding contribution to entertainment" at next year's Golden Globes.
The legendary director – behind films including E.T. and Jurassic Park - will be honored at the awards show on January 13 in recognition of a career that has seen him make some of the highest-grossing films of all time.
He has already received six Golden Globes for films including Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan as well as three Oscars.
Previous winners of the award include Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino and Michael Douglas.
