Oprah's Swank-y Hair Do

Hilary Swank's got a new hairdresser – Oprah Winfrey.

The media mogul and chat show host took the shears to the Oscar winner as part of a charity effort airing Friday on her TV programme.

Oprah told the audience: "It's taken months to get to this moment."

"It involves a two-time Academy Award winner, a sharp object, and me."

33-year-old Hilary joked: "I've been growing it for the last six months to donate my hair."

"I've been taking a lot of vitamins and taking really good care of it, knowing that it would go to a woman in need."

According to People magazine in the US Oprah cut about nine inches off her hair to donate it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths - an initiative dedicated to supporting and encouraging women who have lost their hair during cancer treatment.
