Marc Bannerman has walked straight out of the jungle and into a relationship nightmare.
Former EastEnders actor became the first person to be evicted from I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here on Wednesday night and wasn’t happy when he saw footage of him getting cosy with fellow camper Cerys Matthews.
His girlfriend, actress Sarah Matravers, had flown to Australia to sort out the ex-soap star but returned home before the eviction because it was too distressing to see him flirting on television.
Sarah was interviewed before she boarded her plane for the UK, telling reporters: “We've been together 2 and a half years and I'm shell-shocked.”
“It's been really painful to watch. There is so much to say but this has to happen behind closed doors.”
In the interview immediately after he left the camp, Marc said he was in "big trouble" and would have to apologise to his girlfriend, who he admitted he had embarrassed.
As far as what was happening with him and Cerys, Marc explained: "Nothing is going on, we just got on fantastically, we had a nice time together and we bonded really quickly, I think she is a fantastic girl."
He then asked hosts Ant and Dec: "I'm in big trouble aren't I, what's happening?"
Then Marc added: “It's a really difficult thing. I connected with her on a very deep level, but nothing happened.”
“I was shocked I could have an intense relationship like that. I was...I still am... struggling with my emotions.”
“I've got to apologise to my girlfriend - I've embarrassed her and myself.”
