Plans to regenerate part of Leicester city centre, at a cost of £200 million, have been submitted to the City Council.
The proposals from The Bowbridge Group are for a massive leisure and residential development on a 10 acre site between Burley Way and Abbey Park; a short walk away from the newly developed Highcross Shopping Centre which is due to open on September the 4th.
Facilities would include a swimming pool, bowling alley and outdoor winter ice-rink, as well as residential family homes, local shops and medical facilities. There's also plans for a food store with basement car parking.
If approved, work could begin as early as next summer with a view to completing in 2014.
