Kate Enters Who's Who Book

Kate Moss SmallKate Moss has secured a place in Who's Who.

Other new names to make it into the famous reference book include Jacqueline Gold, the founder of sex toy and lingerie chain Ann Summers, and Top Gear star Richard Hammond.

The 33-year-old Croydon-born supermodel, who was first discovered almost 20 years ago, is listed under her birth name Katherine Ann.

Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst, rugby player Jonny Wilkinson, golfer Darren Clarke, and fashion designers Stella McCartney, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana also get a listing for the first time.

Newsnight and news presenter Emily Maitlis joins her father, retired inorganic chemistry Professor Peter Michael Maitlis, in the pages of Who's Who.

The 160th annual edition brings together over 33,000 personal vignettes of those whose achievements are noted in today's society.

The first edition of Who's Who - a compact, 250-page volume one tenth of the size of the 2008 edition - was published in 1849.

During the Second World War, Winston Churchill personally intervened to ensure its publication and full circulation despite the paper shortage.
