Indy To Rule Cannes Festival

Indiana Jones New Poster SmallA classic cop film from 1971 and a 60-year-old-plus adverturer will be the stars of the Cannes Film Festival this year.

The red carpet for the annual event gets rolled in the French resort on Wednesday with an open air screening of Dirty Harry and the fourth Indiana Jones movie leading this year's line-up at a 12-day movie extravanganza.

Dirty Harry star Clint Eastwood – who will be turning 78-years-old this month – will also be hoping to walk away from the event with the Palme d'Or Award for Best Film for his latest movie Changeling - a drama set in the 1920s starring Angelina Jolie that he directed.

His last attempt to take home the award at the event was with his movie Mystic River in 2005. Sadly, it failed to do that.

Also now-over-60-years-old but still cracking a whip, Harrison Ford flies in to the planet's pre-eminent cinema showcase for the release of Steven Spielberg's fourth episode in the Indiana Jones saga, arguably the world's most-eagerly awaited film.
