Eight Million For Parky Bow

More than eight million viewers tuned in for Michael Parkinson's farewell show last night.

The TV veteran brought down the curtain on his chat show career with a "wish list" of guests including David Beckham, Peter Kay and Dame Judi Dench.

The programme pulled in an audience of 8.3 million on ITV1.

Michael will sign off next week with a special show looking back on his favourite interviews from the past four decades.

Meanwhile, the BBC is to put clips of Parky's celebrated chats from recent years on YouTube.

George Michael, Victoria Beckham and Robbie Williams are among the stars featured.

And viewers will also be able to relive his notorious encounter with Hollywood actress Meg Ryan.
