Race for Life

Heart are proud to support two Cancer Research UK Race for Life events in the East Midlands, and this year, we're putting Sam and Amy head to head to drum up more interest than ever!

For this summer's events, Heart Breakfast's Sam Pinkham will be supporting the Race for Life in Castle Donington, with sidekick Amy Voce pledging her support to her native county's event in Loughborough.

They'll be championing the causes of each location, and aiming to be the first to be fully subscribed. To meet their targets, Sam needs to get 2500 people to sign up and take part, whereas Amy clearly drew the short straw, requiring a whopping 3000 runners to win the challenge!

The Events:

Castle Donington: Wed 2nd July. 7:30pm

Loughborough: Sun 15th July. 11am

Amy says: "We're certainly going to have fun competing to fill our individual events and hope we can get as many of our listeners behind it as possible...even if you just come to support us on the day.

"Taking part in the 5km Race for Life means you're raising money to help prevent, diagnose and treat different kinds of cancer. And, with one in three people being diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives, it's an extremely worthy cause that's close to many people's lives. Make sure you join us this year!"
