We have been expecting you for some time” Living amongst the ancient woodland of Sherwood Forest, young Robin Hood has to quickly deal with the pain and injustice served by the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham. The Theatre Royal has been entertaining and bringing enjoyment to people for over 140 years. Now you have the opportunity to come and see what it is really like behind the scenes and it’s all ABSOLUTELY FREE. SO WHAT GOING ON? There will be foyer and street performances, face painting, competitions, an arts space for children, live music and lots lots more. YOUR CHANCE TO TREAD THE BOARDS AND GO BACKSTAGE Plus there will be regular Backstage Tours led by a member of the Theatre Royal staff. This will give you the opportunity to tread the Theatre Royal boards and explore Sherwood Forest, as you will see how the Theatre Royal’s production of Robin of Sherwood has been brought to life. The tours will commence from 10am from our stalls foyer and will run regularly until the early afternoon. Simply turn up on the day – no ticket is required. ACCESS TOURS At 11am there will be a tour for wheelchair users and their companions and at 12noon there will be a BSL interpreted tour.
