Arnold Carnival - 11:00AM 15/06/2008
location - Arnot Hill Park, Arnold
Big stage entertainment from local and professional entertainers over the weekend. Saturday evening has a 70s feel with Soul Express, Abba-Dabba-Doo and original members of The Real Thing, whilst on Sunday evening, we come more up to date with Retroglide, Take on That and The Bogus Brothers. Usual favourites also include Fun dog show, Battle of Britain Dakota Memorial Flypast, children’s fun fair, craft marquee, charity stalls and street entertainers. Entertainment on both days for all the family. Bring a picnic, relax and be entertained.

Bob The Builder Live - Spud's Big Mess - 02:00PM 15/06/2008

Sunday 15 June at 2pm and 5pm Monday 16 June at 11am, 2pm and 5pm Bob The Builder will be joined by their brilliant machine team, Scoop, the Digger and Lofty the Crane, Dizzy the Cement Mixer, Muck the Digger/Dumper and Roley the Steam Roller! Up to now they've been kept really busy in their home town, Bobsville, mending and fixing just about everything. But that's all about to change! With help from him team, Bob's started work on a special plan for the town that works together with nature using recycled materials and powered by the sun and wind - to reduce waste and save energy! It's a big adventure, and the whole team is going to be moving out to Sunflower Valley. They're going to need a new builder's yard, new workshops and a new machine shelter. There's a lot to do and a lot to build! But luckily Bob's got some new machines coming out to the valley to help. And don't forget to watch out for Bob's mischievous friend Spud! CAN WE BUILD IT? YES WE CAN!

Following the amazing sold out successes in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and being presented with the Greener Festival Award 2007, The Big Session Festival returns to De Montfort Hall & Gardens in 2008 to host the fourth festival. This year's festival will take place from Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June and is set to be a complete sell out with the full line-up confirmed including headliners; Steve Earle, Bellowhead and the Oysterband performing a rare Ceilidh set with popular caller Gordon Potts.
