SHOO SHOO BABY - 07:30PM 25/05/2008
location - The Guildhall Theatre, Derby
£13, concessions £11 “A tight, clever and totally enjoyable show. A sheer delight” Scotsman 2007 "The comedy, material and presentation are wickedly funny and wonderful. The voices cover everything with superb aplomb." One4review, August 2007 The dazzlingly glamorous musical duo, Shoo Shoo Baby, blend dry humour, rich harmonies and pulse-racing costume changes in their hugely successful 2007 Edinburgh festival show, Delicious! No theme tune, jazz standard or pop song is safe from their tongue-in-cheek treatment or quirky interpretation; from brassy belter Big Spender to Puccini’s Un Bel Di (Madam Butterfly), via Cole Porter, Meat Loaf, Sondheim and Vangelis. There is a distinctly Oriental flavour to the show as the naïve Shoo Shoos dream of performing at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics (Shanghai-De-Ho, Kung Fu Fighting and Anything Goes in Chinese). You can also expect some original songs, including Shoo Shoo Baby’s very own Olypmic ‘anthem’.
