Leicester is often described as ‘the world in one city’ so this day give the chance to see some of the finest dance groups representing all corners of the globe in a multi-cultural and multi-national celebration of world dance. Dance is an international language and this day will bring to the city centre all the sights and sounds from around the world. Traditional costumes and exotic sounds
will make this event a colourful and vibrant experience.

Taking a Fall: Satirical Prints by Gillray - 10:30AM 17/08/2008
location - New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester
Complementing the ‘Animated Adventures’ exhibition, an informal talk and closer look at satirical prints by James Gillray and William Hogarth. Both these artists poked fun at the customs and the society of their day and were the forerunners of today’s political cartoonists. There will be opportunities to handle some examples of work. Limited places, booking advisable. Not suitable for under 12’s.
