See How They Run - 07:30PM 05/07/2008
location - The Little Theatre, Leicester
Written during World War 2, first produced in 1945 in the midst of a blitz, this hilariously madcap farce, set in the vicarage of Merton-cum-Middlewick, played a major part in the War Effort by lightening some of the darkest days for those still living and working in the capital. The plot, but let’s not take that at all seriously, concerns a vicar, his ex-actress wife, her actor friend, the local (teetotal) spinster, a droll maid, a bishop, several men of the cloth and someone with a German accent. What happens needs to be seen to be believed – or laughed at!
