Marie Curie Cancer Care Diamond Jubilee Abseil - 09:00AM 29/06/2008

Marie Care Cancer Care is challenging 100 people to abseil 100ft to raise at least £100 each for the local Marie Curie nursing service. The Diamond Jubilee Drop is an abseil down the Rushcliffe Civic Centre building next to Trent Bridge. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides expert home nursing care and emotional support completely free of charge to families affected by cancer. This makes it possible for people who are terminally ill to live to the very last moment at home, rather than go into hospital. £10 per person registration fee. £1 per foot dropped to be raised in sponsorship.


The 6th Great Nottingham Inclosure Walk - 02:00PM 29/06/2008
location - Queen’s Walk Recreation Ground, The Meadows, Nottingham
This free walk passes through the historic green spaces of central Nottingham finishing at the Inclosure Oak on the Forest Recreation Ground. Short talks will be given at places of interest. We celebrate the 1845 Inclosure Act which allotted 130 acres of recreation ground in perpetuity to the people and Nottingham, and honour the memory of the Mayor and corporation of 163 years ago, who has the foresight to lay it out to the highest standards. 5 miles of smooth surfaces suitable for powered wheelchairs or even pushchairs if you are strong - it has been done! You can then take the bus or tram to return to the city centre or the station. Certificate given at the end.
