Big Bad Mouse - 07:30PM 25/06/2008

Legendary comedy duo Cannon and Ball take to the stage for a brand new production of the classic 1970's farce Big Bad Mouse.
Tommy Cannon stars as Mr Price-Hargreaves, with Bobby Ball playing the eponymous mouse, Bloome; roles made famous by actors Jimmy Edwards and Eric Sykes.
And prepare to be surprised - no two shows are the same! The show is refereed by Paul Elliott, who produced the world premiere back in 1970.

His brother has measles and he's been sent to stay with his childless aunt and uncle – Tom is lonely, but this doesn't last long. At night, lying awake he counts the chimes of the grandfather clock in the hallway. On the stroke of thirteen he ventures downstairs to discover a little girl in a magical Victorian garden!
This moving and exciting story for people aged 9 – 99 years unfolds as Tom discovers the meaning of the inscription on the clock "Time No Longer". Tom's Midnight Garden was short listed In 2007 in the top 10 of the nation's favourite Carnegie Medal winning books of all time. Andrew Breakwell brings this enchanting story to life on the Playhouse stage.

Adapted from Andrea Ashworth’s acclaimed autobiography Once in a House on Fire, Hitting Home tells the story of Andrea and her sister growing up in the 1970’s.
A family home filled with the joy of music, dancing and laughter is eclipsed by destructive sadness as the sisters, alongside their widowed mother, are confronted by poverty and domestic abuse at the hands of their step fathers.
