This weekend I slung my (flowery) wellies in the boot and headed to the Lake District for a romantic weekend with the boyfriend. It was my first time to the lakes and I absolutley loved it! After a loooong, winding, but also quite car-sick-inducing journey, we arrived in the middle of nowhere. I love being out in the sticks but also can't help but wonder what people do out there, miles and miles away from anything. How do they get a taxi home after clubbing?! The nearest big town is about 2 hours away! Where do they get their copy of Heat from?!

We had an awesome time, doing the obligatory walks and boat trips, then after a few country pub drinks, went back to the hotel for a few by their fire, where we also befriended the hotel's eccentric but brilliant pianist. I even persuaded him to let me have a quick tinkle at 'The Snowman' on the piano, but after several attempts of me trying to find the right key he asked me to stop as I was putting his job on the line! I thought everyone loved 'Walking On The Air'?!!

Then if that wasn't good enough, on the way back I saw England rugby legend, Johnny Wilkinson at a petrol station!! Yes ladies...he really is better looking in real life!!
