“Cos he’s a Record breaker…da-da-da-dahh.”
Sadly though, come this Sunday, I don’t think I WILL turn out to be the tallest, or the smallest, the fattest (mmmm…more like it) or the thinnest, but wouldn’t it be great to one day break a world record?
So what is there left to go for? Well last year’s Marathon certainly threw up some inspired record smashing:
The fastest finishing Elvis
The fastest female Superhero
The fastest Fireman Sam
And my personal favourite…
The longest scarf knitted whilst running a Marathon (1m 20cm, by the way!) Brilliant!
What chance of me adding to this celebrated bunch of loons?!
Well if you read the blog yesterday you’ll know that my mother has it blissfully in her head that I might actually be in with a chance of winning the race on Sunday. Bless her. There’s a reasonable prospect I might be the strongest finisher on TUESDAY, but it’s safe to say the Kenyans don’t have anything to worry about on the big day itself.
I suppose there’s always the world record for “Deluded DJs Who Really Should Have Learned Their Lesson Taking Part Last Year”. Must be a hot contender for that one.
Or perhaps the record for the “Sorest Nips” (even Vaseline let’s you down sometimes)
Then again, maybe I can impress the Guinness Records people in another way? Here are some fine examples that MUST qualify me for the often criminally overlooked “Being Trained In The Silliest Way To Run The London Marathon” world record…
Marathon Runner………or just perfoming `human seal’?! You decide.
Back to more winding down today, as much pasta as I can eat & all washed down with a gallon of hydrating water – I seem to have spent most of this week nipping off to the loo!
Good luck if you’re taking part this weekend as well, or if you’re going to be part of the amazing crowds that line the route (you make SUCH a difference to the runners!).
More tomorrow.
Love
Gxx
