...and they so do... maybe even more...
First, wisdom tooth operation... which I've been trying to avoid for years... got to the point where it had to be done...
Then a massive communication problem... had an upgrade on my phone last week & didn't transfer my numbers from my old phone quick enough, so the old phone/sim was cancelled, kept meaning to go to the Orange Shop in Wimbledon to see if they could transfer them but never did... so was using new phone with TWO numbers stored (I'd put them in manually)... My girlfriend Julia & my parents (both of whom I know the numbers off by heart anyway...!).
Then got completely trashed on saturday night with Emma B in the AKA Bar/The End... picked Jules up on way back in Hammersmith & somehow left my brand new up-graded phone in the cab (not a black cab... just one who was outside the club)... Phoned Orange... cost me £100 to get sent the same phone again... which now doesn't work... no Sim updates or anything... I tried ringing my old (but new... upgraded) phone on Sunday... it rang a few times, then went to answerphone... (THIS IS A CABBIE WHO I TIPPED & HAD A GOOD CHAT WITH... Very disappointing...) So it's now my third day wthout a mobile phone... it's weird. I never wear a watch - I look at my phone, I always check I've got my phone whenever I leave somewhere ...and even worse, I start to think of all the numbers I've lost... so many...people you may not stay in touch with all the time, but it's good to know you have their number if you feel like saying hi... you know what I mean...? Even really good friends who I've wanted to contact, but can't...
I've never ever lost a mobile before... or been in this situation... and it really makes you think!!! I know I should have a back up, but you just never think of it until these situations, when it's too late... Add to that the fact that my lap-top was totally bust & I had to spend 3 hours in PC World getting it fixed today... I was totally wthout communication for an entire weekend... It's just so weird. It's also disappointing that it's not a surprise that the random cabbie (however friendly) didn't phone Jules or my parents to get hold of me. He's obviously going to sell it. Just a shame. Finger's crossed I'll get hold of Orange today & get my new phone sorted out...
On a more positive note... Had a great night out with Emma B & her husband Damien (both great people!) on Saturday night.. It's a good thing to do... I'd say most of us at Heart get on well. It really is a friendly place to be, & I see Toby at weekends quite a lot, but it was good to hang with Em out of work (seeing as we see each other every day!)
Then on Sunday Jules & I went to Waitrose in Putney to get the best picnic ever & then headed for Holland Park where we pitched up an old rug I found in the back of my car & chilled out with nibbles all afternoon... It was a perfect Sunday afternoon as we were both hungover!
Anyway, I feel like I'm rambling now, so will sign off...
