I went to see Varekai from Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall last night and it was fantastic! Having seen last year's show it had a lot to live up to but it was bigger and better. Don't expect to get the story line unless you understand French! Even then I suspect it would be difficult to follow the weird and wonderful world of Varekai but it's all about the dramatic set, colourful costumes and awe inspiring stunts!
The Royal Albert Hall is perfect for this show with it's very high domed ceiling and great acoustics. It doesn't matter where you sit you actually feel part of the set and show, infact depending where you sit you could even end up being part of the show at the beginning!
The heart stopping moments are punctuated with light hearted, funny bits and they really save the best for last. Without wanting to spoil it for you the things they do with the see-saw are incredible and you will have your heart in your mouth!
So if you want an evening of beautifully haunting music performed by a live band, weird and colourful costumes and dramatic acrobatic feats you have never seen before get some tickets now!
See you tomorrow at 1!
