My mum and her friend arrived last night for 4 days of doing tourist stuff in London. They have their days planned with military precision and got up early this morning to queue for tickets to see the Terracotta Army at the British Museum which closes at the weekend. It is so popular it sold out months ago but they release a limited number of tickets each day. They are going on an open top bus and to the theatre too. I am planning to cook them Delia's cheating Shepherds Pie tonight, they will be so impressed! So many of my friends who live in London never do the touristy thing and I'm one of those people too! Never been on an open top bus, never been on the London Eye, never been on a boat down the Thames! I must make an effort this summer to see London through the eyes of a tourist.
I totally sympathise with you if, like me, you are trying to get back into some kind of fitness regime now the light nights are back. I reluctantly went for a run around Hyde Park last night and am planning to do the same tonight. The papers are full of great ideas and fitness schedules that you can do in a park. As if I'm going to run in and out of trees and do star jumps in the park...people will think I've gone totally mad!
I got completely April fooled yesterday by my friend who emailed me to tell me that a mutual friend of ours was pregnant, it was someone who you would least expect to get pregnant so I got on with telling everyone the news...it was a big story! Problem was later that afternoon she emailed me again to tell me it was an April fool but it was too late the news had already filtered back to said pregnant but not really pregnant girl! It has now somehow become my fault and I'm in the bad books with both of them....apparently I should of known it was an April fool!
See you tomorrow at 1....
