Hello, and welcome to my first blog.
I thought a good way to start would be to give you a piece of advice that I wish I had personally taken just this morning. I have been spending the last 3-4 weeks looking for a flat to live in. I have scoured the back streets, arterial roads and the deepest crevices of North London trying to find the perfect place to rent.
At last on Tuesday I found a place which I rather liked and made an offer on the flat. When I found out the offer had been accepted I should have gone straight to the agent and paid the deposit. Instead, for some bizarre reason I decided to view another property - just because I was already there.
Big mistake, I liked it. I really liked it. So I had the most stressful half hour not knowing whether to go ahead with the flat I’d previously agreed with or to change all my pre-laid plans and to go for the new place. Now you may read this thinking, so what - just make a quick choice. The thing is - I am THE worst decision maker ever - bus or train, grey socks or the black ones… The trivial or the life changing - I struggle so much! I wish I hadn't seen the second place.
So what did I do? I went for the original first place - I reminded myself of my motto - ‘go with your first instinct’. It has made me however think I need a second motto in life, something along the lines of “don’t go and see another flat when you’ve already found a decent place, it only confuses things and make you feel stupid” maybe I need to work on the wording of that one. Let me know if you ever find it useful…
