I discovered something the other day which is kind of embarrassing for me. I officially have the attention span of a three year old!
Now this is not due to any high spec intelligence test neither has a skilled professional given me a brain scan and thus diagnosed accordingly. I found this out in a much more straightforward way. You may know, if you’ve read my previous blogs, that a couple of weeks ago a friend of mine gave me an unwanted raffle prize - a selection of games for the PS2. There were lots of great looking ones with fighter jet planes or darkly clothed ninjas on the front cover all of which I tried to play and just couldn’t get the hang of. They were far too complicated and required a degree course just to understand the accompanying manual. I’m not the biggest games console fan in the first place so I didn’t really have the patience to try and figure them out.
Now 14 days on and I've only touched one game which is called Ape Escape 3 and it’s aimed at three year olds! I am completely unashamed to admit that I absolutely love it! It’s so addictive. The basic premise of the game is that you have to go around with a net and capture monkeys - genius!! Some people get their kicks by taking the managers position at Accrington Stanley and guiding them to Champions League glory; others enjoy nothing more than driving round the mean streets of LA ramming into other cars, smashing up shops with baseball bats and mugging innocent bystanders. Me however, I just want to free the world of banana eating critters!
Just to confirm this theory further, if you know of a toddler (your own or perhaps a friends?) then would you mind sharing some tricks that you use to keep them occupied and I’ll see if they equally fascinate me…
See you tonight from 7pm.
