Happy Valentine's Day!

As the presenter of "Heartbreakers", it would just be wrong for me not to write a blog on February 14th wouldn't it?? Tonight's going to be great as we're playing out the 100 Greatest Heartbreakers, starting in Emma's Drivetime from 6pm, right through Matt's new evening show and then our regular 3-hour session from 10pm. I promise you it'll be the perfect Valentines night soundtrack, and if that wasn't enough, someone's going to win a very nice romantic holiday AND we'll have your messages on air too. Keep Heart on all evening!!

Now ... question is ... did you remember it was Valentine's today?? Or are you reading this thinking "AAAGGGHHHH - I'm in the dog house!!". I'm not too bad at remembering important dates, I've just turned rubbish at organising surprises. Just ask Mrs Beale. It was her birthday a couple of weeks ago and I was really un-decided about what to get her. So, worried of buying the wrong thing... did I ask her friends for advice? No. Did I use my initiative and take a risk? No. I thought I'd go for the "ASK HER" option. How un-romantic is that?? Still, she seemed pretty happy with the end result.

Thing is, yesterday I added to my new "rubbish at surprises" persona, by leaving the Valentine's Card I've bought her out on the sofa in the lounge. She picks it up. Asks me "what's this?". I reply "Oh no - did you see it?". She says "Yes". TA-DA - I've done it again. What's wrong with me?

Ah well, at least she doesn't know about the dozen red roses due to be delivered later on today.

Oh.

She does now. I really should stop talking....
