The Land Of Confusion

Bank Holiday weekends always throw the rest of my week into chaos.  Don't get me wrong, an extra day off is to be celebrated - but come Tuesday morning, the problems really start. I find myself talking about Sunday as "yesterday", Tuesday as "tomorrow" and to be honest, for the rest of the week I'm constantly a day out of sync.

I can't just blame the Bank Holiday - tv schedules haven't helped either.  "Britain's Got Talent" is making it feel like a Saturday every night this week and "The Apprentice" was moved 24 hours earlier!  I even flicked onto the DAVE channel last night, and they were showing "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross" - on a Wednesday.

And the icing on the cake?  Our bin-men.  They normally come on a Monday, but because of the long weekend, collected our rubbish on Tuesday, making it feel even more like a Monday! AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!

On a positive note, the week is flying by and with the weather we've had - it's a good thing.  I was driving home from Heart a couple of nights ago to the most amazing thunderstorm and torrential rain (did you see it?).  I had the windscreen wipers on full power (y'know, when they look like they're going to take off) which I normally only need if I'm driving in heavy rain on a motorway.  I was going at, oooh, 20mph down a side road.  The road to my house was like a river.  If only it hadn't been 2.30am, I could've played a few rounds of "Drench the Pedestrian" with the spray from the car.

And just when I thought I couldn't get any wetter, my 5-year old daughter Naomi asked if I could take her swimming yesterday.  The kids are on half term this week, so I'm now going to spend a few moments surfing the web for "Stuff to do with bored children when it's raining".  My suggestion of "carry on clearing your bedrooms" didn't go down too well.

Have a good Wednesday. Er, Tuesday. No, Thursday. That's it, Thursday.
