Good People Still Exist!

Hello! Hope you had a great Bank Holiday weekend and are now getting a chance to enjoy this fantastic weather - why does it get really nice just as you have to head back to work. Typical.

I'm planning on spending today either a) in the garden catching some rays (there has to be some benefits to working at 10 at night!) or b) doing a back-up of all the names and numbers on my mobile phone. I had a bit of a wake up call last night.

I was on my way into Heart to present "Heartbreakers" and had to stop off to buy a few bits at the supermarket on the way. I know I had my mobile phone with me when I went in to the store, but as I got to the car on my way out, realised it wasn't with me anymore. Aaaaaggghhh PANIC! I rushed back in to the exact spot where I'd been. No sign of my phone. Asked one of the staff if anything had been handed in. Nothing. It was at that moment, I suddenly realised I'd not only lost my mobile, but the names and numbers of so many friends, photos of my family and the "to-do" list that I live by.

As soon as I arrived at the Heart studios, I phoned my number and it just said the number was unavailable. To cut a long story short, some amazing person (and if you're reading this - I owe you, big time) found my mobile lying on the pavement. They took the trouble to not only hand in my phone to the local police station, but find my Mum and Dad's number on it and call them so they could contact me with the good news. Wow! I was SO relieved. Thanks to the goodwill and effort of an kind-hearted individual, me and phone are now reunited and life is back to normal. I am so grateful.

The funny part of this is my Dad's reaction, getting a call at 10pm from a stranger saying "I have your son's phone". He thought, "Oooh, better phone him and let him know. Now, he'll be at work, not at home - better call his mobile". Needless to say, he had a nice conversation with a police officer.
