I'm feeling good. The clocks have switched to British Summertime, the sun has shone for a couple of days and I feel like winter is slowly becoming a thing of the past. Well, for a few months at least.
But also, I wanted you to be the first to hear my exciting news - but this is all exclusive and very hush hush.
I've had a call from the casting director at EastEnders in Elstree. For a while now they've been looking for someone to play a new character, who will turn out to be the long-lost brother of Ian. Although they've been holding auditions for the past 6 months, they don't feel they've found the right person. So, their latest idea was to find a REAL "Beale", as they believe they would play the character more convincingly - hence the phone call I received as one of the producers listens to Heartbreakers each night.
I couldn't believe it. I had my audition last Friday and was told yesterday the part was mine. I am SO excited - and I'll get to use my real name. My storyline is a gripping one, which will see me becoming the new villain of Albert Square - wrecking relationships, having regular fights in the Vic and making my brother Ian's life a nightmare.
My only problem is trying to fit in learning lines, rehearsing and filming whilst still doing "Heartbreakers" each night. But I think it'll be OK. Although, I've also been approached by Endemol Productions in the last couple of weeks about covering for Noel Edmonds on C4 when he's off on holiday, which is such a privilege. The show will be exactly the same each afternoon, except it'll be renamed "Beale... or No Beale" when I'm doing it.
Oh, and I've won £20 million in the lottery.
Happy April Fools Day.
Simon
