It's half-term this week, so we decided to take the Beale kids out for the day with the aim that most parents have ... not to spend any money! We succeeded on that, but things went wrong in another way instead!

A Weekend Puzzle

Following my plan a couple of weeks ago to start getting fit, I thought I'd better update you quickly on how it's going. Well, I did some more cycling last weekend and to be honest, I was exhausted after about 10 minutes - so, hmmm, needs some more work. And as for drinking 2 litres of water every day, I've just about kept it up - and the effect it's had on me? .... so far .... none. Well, to the best of my knowledge. Maybe it just takes a while to kick in. I certainly hope SOMETHING changes as it IS the most boring drink in the world. And before you say anything Gareth... no I'm not joining you on the Marathon!!

Happy Pancake Day

Personally, I'm a boring sugar and lemon man ... although cherry pie filling is also high on the list of fillings I'll be opting for later. Mmmmm - LOVE pancakes. You're going to think I'm always talking about food, what with this and my video tour of Borough Market the other week. I promise you, I'm not ALWAYS thinking about my stomach.

I'm SO Lost

Happy February! As "Heartbreakers" celebrates it's one month birthday (don't worry, I won't mention that on the 1st of every month), I'm in for an exciting weekend. Firstly, it's Mrs Beale's birthday on Saturday, and we're celebrating by going out to a restaurant recommended by Gary Rhodes. Ooooooohhh! Now, before you think me and Gary are best pals, it's worth making clear that I've never met him in my life and we just saw him talk about this place in the BBC Good Food magazine. Hmmm, not so showbiz. But in my mind, if it's good enough for the spiky-haired chef, then it's good enough for me! (Thank goodness he had nothing to do with the prices on the menu - they're fairly modest. Phew). I'll tell you about it next week.
